Trip To Mexico City
Â
This past October I had the good fortune to visit Mexico City during the week of Day of The Dead. My hosts were gracious and welcomed me with open arms to their San Angel Art Studio, @clasespinturacondesa where I taught a 5-day painting workshop on Birds and Flowers.
During my stay, I also visited the Ecological Park at Xochimilco and attended a few Day of the Dead Festivities. I was mostly drawn to wildlife and nature on this visit, however, as each of my visits (this being the 4th) tends to have a different focus. There is just so much to see here.
The day before class, I visited the Jamaica Market in the city center to select some flowers to paint. It was truly overwhelming there, and I have included much footage from the morning I spent there, trying hard to focus and choose bouquets.
While teaching my wonderful group of students, I managed to complete a flower and parrot painting while guiding them through the steps that I take. I look forward to making many more of these as the year goes by, and we will be repeating this class next year, so stay tuned!
