Recently I had my first opportunity to make artwork for a cd cover album.  In the process I have also become very fond of Nate's music and of Fun. (his other band)

Working with Nate and Sam (from The Format, also one of Nate's old bands) we talked about, composed, painted, and did the lay out and printed the album (and possibly there is more in the works as I made two drawings as well, and shot a lot of closeups of my palette).  So I guess that listeners of the cd can also become familiar with what a painters palette looks like.

Here is what Nate had to say about the commissioning of the work I did.  I am so happy and proud to be a part of this.

I was sitting outside and enjoying the spring birds and some when when this fell into my lap. The newly released Nate Reuss album in Vinyl!  There is a CD there too for comparison. I love how they are pink and neon pink, matching the balloons I painted for the album artwork. Congratulations again Nate!  You were great to portray and to work with :-). The dolls present the new record (which I can't wait to here it must sound better than the CD) along with some of the painting props. No balloons, alas

This project was one of the highlights of my year,  it was so unusual and special to break out from my niche of the art market and crossover into album artwork for music.  I don't get tired of listening to this record and its nice to see painting make this kind of a resurgence.
