Painting Dolls & Flowers, May 11 & 18. 1-5 PM, EST

 

 

In this two-day class, discover the captivating world of flower and doll painting with the exquisite online class by the renowned artist, Teresa. Prepare to be transported into a realm of beauty and elegance as Teresa guides you through the creation of stunning still-life paintings of flower bunches and enigmatic dolls.

 

Each morning, Teresa will grace your screen with her effortless strokes and mesmerizing artistry, demonstrating the skills necessary to bring to life the vibrant blooms and uncanny sculpted figurines. As she works her magic, she will artfully discuss the techniques and methods behind direct painting, unraveling the secrets of color harmonies and paint applications.

Immerse yourself in this immersive experience, where you will not only witness Teresa's masterpieces unfold, but also have the opportunity to unleash your inner artist. From the comfort of your own home, you will paint alongside Teresa, drawing inspiration from your own carefully curated setups or the evocative photographs she provides.

 

But this class is more than just a series of demonstrations. Teresa understands the importance of individualized attention, so she will offer one-on-one instruction to each student, ensuring that you receive personalized feedback and guidance throughout the course. With her expert eye and wealth of experience, Teresa will nurture your skills and help you overcome any hurdles you may encounter along the way.

 

Supply list- This list is what Teresa Oaxaca uses herself. Please feel free to substitute any colors you find too troublesome to acquire. It is optional to have the same materials for this course.

 

Brushes

Filbert, flat of Round. It is recommended that you acquire a “full set” (sizes 1-12) range, or skip every other size if you want to bring less brushes to class.

 

Paints-

Ultramarine Blue Green Shade (Natural Pigments (or any ultramarine blue from Old Holland or Michael Harding or another brand of your choice)

Chromium Oxide Green

Viridian

Lemon Ochre (or any Yellow Ochre)

Chrome Yellow Primrose (or a cadmium Lemon Yellow)

Lead Tin Yellow Dark (not necessary, just my favorite)

Cadmium Orange

Pozzuoli Red (a fancy name for red iron oxide pigments. Try looking for Venetian Red or English Red too)

Rose Madder (or Alizarin Crimson, our Permanent Rose)

Cypress Umber Raw Dark (or a raw Umber)

Lead White (or Titanium white, Flake White Replacement)

Bone Black (“Ivory Black” No one makes paint from natural Ivory anymore, it's just a fanciful name)

Cadmium Red instead

Cerulean Blue

French Sienna

 

Mediums- Age Refined Linseed Oil, Stand Oil

 

Canvas Support- One 20x16” stretched and primed linen canvas (or panel)
